15 Review of the Baby Trend Expedition LX: Great Budget Jogging Stroller

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 9:19 AM 1 comments
Jogging strollers are certainly not a necessity for most new parents. If you plan to do a lot of walking on varied terrain with your little one, or you plan to do any jogging or running while toting your baby along, they are a very nice luxury to have. The prices range from about $100 to over $500, so choosing the right one can be quite difficult. After some research and pondering, we decided on the Baby Trend Expedition LX and are quite happy with our decision.

The point of a jogging stroller is to add stability and support for the baby during a fast or bumpy ride. They are ideal for "off-road" trails and also jogging or light running. They run on larger, bicycle-like tires, and have shock absorption. They are generally pretty oversized, and can accommodate babies, toddlers, and even preschoolers.

The Baby Trend Expedition is on the lower end of the price spectrum for jogging strollers. At around $140, however, this model provides everything we were looking for, at a fairly affordable price. The stroller is black with light blue with orange accents, has speakers and a hook up for an MP3 player, includes cup holders for both mom or dad and baby, offers plenty of storage, and features a tray for baby to house snacks or toys. There is also an attached clock/pedometer which is great for tracking time or miles jogged.

As far as the ride goes, the shocks give your child a nice, smooth ride. One of the nicest features of this model is that the front wheel can be fixed, or you can allow it to pivot. A fixed front wheel is a must for jogging. A wheel that pivots simply does not supply enough stability to provide a smooth ride. When you are not jogging, however, a fixed front wheel makes steering much more difficult. Having the luxury of both options is an excellent feature in this model.

The Baby Trend Expedition will accommodate children up to 50 pounds and 42 inches. This makes it a stroller you will be able to use for many years. It is not recommended for infants less than 6 months

Baby Trend Highchair Review

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 9:16 AM 0 comments
The Baby Trend HighChair is a knock off of the popular Fisher Price Healthy Care High Chair, however this a case where I think the copy actually offers more features than the original at a better price. I actually prefer my in laws Baby Trend to our own Healthy Choice High Chair for a variety of reasons. The first feature which I like better is the taller bar between the baby’s legs, which helps prevent your baby or toddler from jumping out in those brief few seconds between the time that you take off the cover and try to pick them up. It's almost as if they are programmed to lurch at exactly this moment and we have had a few close calls. The Baby Trend seat also has a sliding mechanism for attaching and removing the tray which is more sturdy than the Fisher Price snap-on mechanism. Most models come with two washable covers, which are typically only available on more expensive models.

Notable Features:

* 6-position height adjustment
* Reclining seat
* Removable, washable and reversible seat pad.
* Removable dishwasher safe tray (this is a must have)
* Wheels
* Five point harness
* Folds easily and compactly for travel or storage

For all of the above features and a price that is less than $100, this highchair is a great value.

Baby Strollers Safety Tips

Basic Baby Stroller Safety:

1) Make sure the correct size stroller to use for your child. Most of a car seat, children have different sizes varying size stroller.

2) properly harness your child at any time.

3) When a combo box device (car seat and stroller use together) to always check to make sure that the car seat correctly in bars.

4) Do not place heavy objects on your child while they are on baby strollers. Most recent strollers come with many storage areas. It is very easy for an overloaded stroller tipping backwards, and throw the baby out!

5) Never leave hot drinks on your child buggies.

6) stroller wheels lock when you are changing, and so can not roll away from you.

7) Never leave your child alone with a baby stroller.

Baby Stroller Features To Consider Before Buying

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 4:34 AM 0 comments

The most important features to consider when buying a stroller are the safety features. Buying a new stroller makes it easier to check for various safety features required in baby strollers. First off check that the stroller has an adequate breaking system. Also be sure that the proper safety harness is in place (usually a 5 point safety harness) and check that there is a crotch strap as well. A crotch strap will prevent your baby from sliding out of the stroller.

Other features which are not critical but help are things like adjustable handles. You are more than likely not the only person who will be pushing the stroller so adjustable handles are very helpful. You may also want to consider a stroller made from washable material or has Scotchguard protection to limit staining. Newer model strollers are usually built with stain guard fabrics.
Storage space is also a plus in a good stroller. You will need to have space for things such as a diaper bag, baby formula, as well as having room to carry any extra bags. After storage space consideration, your next feature check is how well will your stroller store? You will want one that will fold easily and open easily because you will be moving that stroller in and out of the car or storing it in a closet, etc. The last thing you want to be doing is fighting with a stroller every time you need to use it or put it away.

If you are an active parent, you may consider the jogging stroller. Jogging strollers are great for the mom or dad who wants to get in their exercise with their baby. The only downside to these strollers are that they are usually not made for carrying extra bags and are generally not lightweight. Another issue is they are not recommended for newborns. If you are into exercising, you are probably better off purchasing two separate strollers, one for daily use and one for jogging or running.

What it boils down to is the features that you will need on a regular basis. Safety features go without saying but some parents need more storage in there strollers where as some parents rather have a lighter weight stroller that is easy to store. It may help to write down the features you are looking for in a stroller and then researching particular brands to see which one fits your needs best.

Tips For Getting Your Baby to Sleep

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 8:49 PM 0 comments

Bedtime! If you ask new parents about which is the time that is the toughest for them, most will definitely heave a sigh and say bedtime!

One of your hardest jobs with your new baby is getting her to sleep. After all, the world is a very interesting place, and having boundless energy to expend, who has time for sleep, anyway?

Your new baby can not tell the difference between night and day, nor can she understand logic or time. This can become a trying experience for you. What can be done? You can't shout or scold her, this will only escalate your situation. So the best thing you can do to get your baby to sleep is to make the environment itself conducive to sleep.

In order to get baby to sleep at night, teach your baby that daytime is for eating, stimulation, and exploration. Nighttime is for sleeping. Set the standards, from the time you arrive home from the hospital, be consistent with your routine.

Routine tips on how to get baby to sleep:

Always placing baby in her crib on her back to sleep. This will slowly become a conditioned reflex and your baby will associate the crib with sleep time!

Naps, too, should be scheduled at a regular time each day. Regular daytime naps can help to get baby to sleep longer periods of time at night.

Set the atmosphere, after laying your baby down to sleep make sure you don't make it a 'social' or 'fun' time. Be quiet and soothing while feeding or changing diapers. This quiet and soothing time will help your baby establish nighttime is for sleeping.

Most parents like following a simple bedtime ritual of bathing their babies then reading to them. This helps them to relax. Babies are creatures of habit. These rituals help them to make this association with sleep. Consistent bedtimes and going to sleep rituals get your baby to sleep easier and they stay asleep longer.

How To Keep A Baby Happy In The Stroller

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 8:40 PM 0 comments

Keeping a baby happy in the stroller sometimes requires much more than simply putting your baby into the stroller and taking a walk around. Babies are curious individuals eager to learn and often require new, interesting and exciting materials to keep them occupied. Here are some tips for what to look for when shopping for stroller accessories to keep your baby busy and happy in the stroller.

1. Attachable

At some stage, all babies enjoy the drop-and-wait-for-Mummy-or-Daddy-to-react game. The last thing you want is for your baby to constantly drop their toy on the floor while you are trying to shop for the groceries. Having stroller accessories that attach to the stroller or baby in some way will help to prevent baby from losing it deliberately.

2. Lights and Sounds

Obviously stroller accessories that emit lights and sounds will be more engaging and interesting to a baby. These generally tend to hold a baby's attention for longer.

3. Action-Reaction

Stroller accessories that require a baby to do something to them will be more engaging than those that do nothing. Babies will easily get bored of a toy if there is nothing interactive about it. Ideally, stroller accessories that have some sort of activity component will provide longer lasting entertainment to a baby. For instance, toys with lots of buttons to press, cloth books or board books with pages to turn.

4. Variety

Depending on how long you think you will be shopping for, it is a good idea to keep a stash of accessories hidden in the baby bag. That way, as soon as baby gets bored with the current toy, you can swap it with a new one. The longer you intend to shop for, the more toys you need to hide in the baby bag.

The following are some engaging stroller accessories and toys that will help to keep baby suitably occupied.

* Stroller steering wheel that attaches onto the pram. These are toys that are usually attachable to the stroller, emit lights and sounds, and offer a variety of activities for baby - for instance, buttons to press and a steering wheel to spin.

* Learning activity toys like the range from Lamaze. Again, these toys are usually attachable to the stroller and they offer a range of textures, sounds, and possibly lights for baby to explore.

* For very young babies, sometimes a musical mobile hanging from the hood of the stroller might be sufficient to entertain them until they fall asleep.

* Toy keys and mobile phones are also pretty attractive to the older babies that are learning the significance of these items in the real world.

choosing a pushchair for your new baby

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 7:44 AM 0 comments
When choosing a pushchair for your new baby there are several important factors to consider.
Firstly, you should buy a pushchair or pram that lies flat. This is important to prevent damage to your baby's back. If your baby suffers from colic you might find s/he is more comfortable at a slight angle, so look out for a pushchair that will allow you to adjust the position to different settings.

After considering baby's comfort you should decided how you plan to use the pushchair in your day to day life. Will it need to be folded and stored in your car, will you be walking long distances, will you be shopping with baby?
Consider buying a pushchair you can easily lift, fold and unfold with one hand whilst carrying your baby in the other. Practise in the store before you buy.

If you are planning on doing a lot of walking then sturdy wheels with thick rubber "tyres" are essential. I've had several wheels wear out and give up on me. Bear in mind that cheap lightweight strollers with small wheels wear out much faster than big pushchairs with big wheels, if you are on a tight budget it is probably cheaper in the longrun to splash out on a sturdy one to begin with.
If you plan on walking over rough terrain eg cobbles, grass, etc, consider a pushchair with suspension and lockable wheels. Swivel wheels are great on flat ground but almost impossible on grass.

If you plan do to lots of shopping with baby then look for a big shopping basket, and a storage tray on the handles is very useful for holding your keys and change.
If you plan to travel by car and then walk, a travel system is a brilliant choice as you can transfer the car seat to the pushchair without disturbing your sleeping baby. Even if you don't have a car you could find the seat useful, although car seats don't lie flat and its not recommended to use them for prolonged periods for newborns.
Finally, if you still can't decide, remember that you have to push this pushchair around with you for a long time, maybe two or three years. Pick one that you like the look of, that won't go out of style to quickly. It might be sensible to choose a neutral colour because although baby girl might look gorgeous in a pink pushchair, you may want to reuse it for your next child and a little boy might not be so well suited.

Good strollers for newborn babies

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 7:31 AM 0 comments
If you are buying a stroller for a newborn, you should invest in what is called a 'travel system', which is a combination stroller/car seat/baby carrier. Regular baby strollers don't provide the neck and body support that newborn babies need. Although travel systems aren't cheap, as a new father I can tell you that they are a worthwhile investment.

Travel systems work like this: When you are going out, you strap the baby into the carrier. Our baby enjoys the snug feeling he gets from being in the carrier and usually falls asleep instantly! You carry the baby in his (or her) carrier to your vehicle and click it into the base which you keep installed in your car. Usually these carriers will function as a rear-facing baby seat until your baby weighs 22 lbs. When you arrive at your destination and are ready to walk around with your child, just remove the carrier from the car seat base and snap it into the stroller. Notice how the baby goes from the house to the car to the stroller and beyond without ever being disturbed. When your baby is no longer a newborn, he can go right into the stroller without the carrier.
adparams.getadspec('c_billboard1')
Our baby has been using his 'travel system' since the day he left the hospital and never fusses when he is in it. Our particular travel system is made by Graco and cost a few hundred dollars (Canadian). Make sure you buy one that is built with a sturdy metal frame. Happy trails!

What Baby Gear Items Are Essential For New Parents?

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 2:38 AM 0 comments
Making decisions about which baby gear to buy can be extremely tough for a first time parent! There are so many options for each of the many needs of a new baby. Should you go with a Travel System or with a Lightweight Stroller and a Convertible Car Seat that you can use longer? Which car seat brand is the safest? Which strollers are the most durable and most convenient? It is tough to find answers! As a first time mom, I have learned the hard way through expensive purchases that ended up hardly used but I have also found certain purchases and decisions to have been wonderful! There are many items that I have found that I couldn't live without and a few that I would recommend avoiding.

My first recommendation is a lightweight hig-quality stroller that is easy for travel and quickly collapsible. The Maclaren Quest Stroller is stylish, easy and light weight. I purchased the JJ Cole infant body support ($24.99 at BabiesRUs.com) which comes in graphite or pink and it made the Maclaren Stroller comfortable for my infant! I would recommend against buying a large bulky travel system because the infant seat is quickly outgrown and you will want to purchase a smaller, more stylish lightweight stroller anyway! Maclaren strollers are of excellent quality, very easy to use and are light weight. The only draw back when switching to the lightweight stroller is the loss of storage room. The Maclaren Universal Stroller Organizer has been a perfect solution when added to the Maclaren stroller. It has two cup holders and a large storage compartment which allows me have diapers, wipes and a bottle with me so that I do not have to carry a bulky diaper bag with me into the mall. I would highly recommend adding a Maclaren Universal Stroller Organizer to any Maclaren Stroller. Another recommended addition to any stroller is an attachable Maclaren Parasol. They come in various colors and are extremely necessary if you walk outside in a sunny area to keep sun off of your child as the stroller hood has limited sun coverage.

A Convertible Car seat (I use and love the Britax Advocate) with infant body support inserted is perfect for an infant and will grow with the child up to 65 pounds. Though expensive, it is the safest on the market and the newest of the Britax line. I find the peace of mind worth it. Pick up an infant body support to use this convertible seat with an infant and you will get many years of use from this great seat that comes with a lifetime warranty!

A life-saver for me that has allowed me to get chores done around the house and for my daughter to still be happy has been our Chicco Baby DJ Walker. She loves scooting around the house in it has so many buttons and keys that make music and animal noises for her to play with. My daughter is shorter and petite at 6 months of age but this walker has multiple height settings that accommodate her and will allow her to grow.

When looking into purchasing a pack and play, do not get distracted by the expensive, fancy ones with designer fabrics. Most pack and plays (of good brands) are the same and perform the exact same function well. If you go with the cheapest of a good quality line, you will get a good bang for your buck. The Graco Safari Friends is only $69.99 and works just as well as any other Graco! It opens and closes easily and has worked very well for us through three babies.

When purchasing toys, remember that your child needs novel stimuli more than fancy stimuli. If you buy some expensive toys, their novelty will be worn off and you will need more. So think creatively! Improvise with kitchen utensils such as pots and pans, colored measuring cups, funnels or a big wooden spatula! Fill an old water bottle with coffee beans and tape it tightly shut to create a rattle. When your child is playing at home these "new" toys will make for perfect novel stimuli without spending a fortune.

Baby Trend Triple Stroller Doesn’t Steer

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 6:58 PM 0 comments

This stroller, also known as “The Stroller That Set Us Free,” was the purchase which finally allowed us to go somewhere with our 20 month old and newborn twins. We had looked around and found that almost all of the triple stroller options that existed were simply way over-priced, at least for our budget.

But as luck would have it, the mother of triplets in my local Twins Club was selling one. In nearly pristine condition with all of the paperwork, instructions and after a quick demonstration in the driveway on how to use it, I picked up this behemoth and took it home.

At 6 feet long and very heavy (46.8 pounds shipping weight), this thing was made like a tank. The two front seats recline to one position and the back seat will recline completely for naps. This is a little frustrating because we had two little ones who really needed to recline, not one. We took it out to museums, to the 4th of July on Clearwater Beach and on walks everywhere. At least for a very short time we did.

There are two problems with this stroller and probably with any triple stroller. First, your heaviest child needs to go into the back. Basic physics are working against you if you put the heaviest child in the front, but our oldest child didn’t want to sit all the way in the back where he couldn’t see. He wanted to sit up front. So at first it worked nicely, while the twins were newborns and were very small babies. As they began to put on weight and the biggest boy grew, I realized why the triplet mom had chucked it although her triplets were just a few months older than my twins.

Secondly, it became nearly impossible to steer. My husband had trouble getting it to turn by the time my twins were one, simply because of the weight of our children in it. Now you might imagine that the sturdy construction would make it more amenable to hauling a brute squad of kids, and I suppose from the stand point of holding up it was indeed great. It never became weak or wobbly, but it also wouldn’t turn.

I’d pan it completely except that for a time, it was a really useful addition to our lives, but overall I would not recommend it. The price of this stroller new compared to it’s value is really out of whack. If you do need a triple stroller, I’d recommend scouring consignment shops or your local multiples clubs. When shopping for triple strollers be sure to read the details. There is a very expensive brand out there which shall remain nameless, that sells a triple stroller and none of it’s wheels turn. None. How do your turn it? I am told, by someone who owns one, that you really don’t. You pray you never have to turn it.

A triple stroller is something that seemed like a good idea, but we really ended up using a double and a single to accomplish the same goal as we grew more frustrated with the bulk, weight and overall manageability of the triple one. Knowing what I know now, I’d probably pass on one of these next time around.

The five point harness on the Expedition jogging stroller received unanimously positive reviews in terms of how it is easy to adjust as well as being apparently quite comfortable and safe for the little passengers.

maneuvering

positive reviewsB

Since Expedition is a jogging stroller the front wheel should NOT swivel, thereby providing straight and easy tracking while running with the stroller. There were several parents who did not understand this concept when purchasing the stroller and were quite upset by the fact that they were unable to maneuver around sharp aisle corners with their jogging stroller, although the stroller really isn't designed to effectively handle shopping aisles and other narrow spaces. The only complaints that were really relevant against the Expedition fell into two categories: 1) difficulty with tracking (tending to veer to one side while pushing), and 2) the perceived heaviness of the stroller when being pushed. In total, 12 % of parents reported problems with the Expedition not tracking straight while only 6% felt that the stroller was too heavy when pushing it.

Reviews--Baby Trend Trendsport LITE 2 1520

Baby Trend Trendsport LITE 2 1520

It's hard to beat the price of Baby Trend's Trendsport LITE 2. At less than $40, it has many of the same features of full-size strollers three times the price.

we like its large wheels because they make steering easier, particularly over uneven surfaces. The wheels measure a full 5-1/4 inches, and we only wish they had independent suspension. However, that would likely add to the price, so we're satisfied with the large wheels alone.

The Baby Trend Trendsport LITE 2 has a lightweight steel frame that weighs only 12 pounds, as well as a generous canopy and padded handle. We were surprised to learn the seat reclines to two different positions. This is an unusual and welcome feature on a low-priced stroller. Unfortunately, the stroller's recline feature isn't as easy to use or comfortable as we would have liked.

The stroller has a three-point harness. One cautionary note: Be careful with the harness buckle -- it can pinch. We've accidentally pinched not only our own fingers during testing, but also nearly pinched our young passenger.

We like the Baby Trend Trendsport LITE 2 for its convenience items, such as the parent tray and child tray, both with cup holders. We also like the Trendsport LITE 2's footrest, which isn't a feature you always find on an umbrella stroller. It has an easy-to-use trigger fold, which can be done with one hand, and it's easy to carry.

Overall, the Baby Trend Trendsport LITE 2 has many features you'd expect on models costing much more. While this is certainly a benefit, don't expect the Trendsport LITE 2 to compete with the performance of a full-size luxury stroller. As an umbrella stroller, however, it is convenient, simple to use and worth the less-than-$40 price tag.

Reviews--Baby Trend Euro Buggy Stroller

Baby Trend Euro Buggy Stroller

"We have not had any problems at all with this stroller. We purchased it right before our daughter was born. It has held up just fine. We have taken it on trips with us to other states and use it pretty much every day. We also have baby trend car seat and that has been great too...Our daughter seems to love riding in the stroller. It is easy to push/steer. We love the fact the seat can be reversed so baby is looking at us. You do have to take the seat off when you fold it to put it in the car but that only takes a few seconds so it is not really a big deal. It would be nice though if you did not have to do that especially when traveling on an airline - which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.. I can't really think of anything though besides that I would say is a con. My sister has a baby trend stroller as well and hers is over 4 years old and she has never had any problem with hers either. We had a small problem with our car seat having a cut in the cover when we bought it so I contacted baby trend told them the problem and they actually sent me out TWO new covers for it. No questions asked! So I am not sure why anyone would say customer service is poor... Anyway, back to the stroller- We have gotten a lot of compliments on it & I would definately recommend it but if you like a stroller with cup holders & trays then you may not want this one. It doesn't bother us and I think it actually looks better without them..."

Why the correct wheels are important when getting a jogging baby stroller

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 7:26 PM 0 comments

wheels are an important consideration in deciding the kind of jogging baby stroller you want to get.

There are a couple of things to consider regarding the wheels:

• Size - Generally, smaller wheels are best for smooth surfaces while larger wheels are better for rough roads and terrain.

If you run off-road frequently, you may want to consider 20” wheels. They give less resistance and glide over the rough surface easier.
If you jog off road infrequently, but also jog in town, your best choice is probably 16" wheels. They travel well in town or on a path.
If you only jog in town on smooth surfaces then you may want to pick 12” wheels. They maneuver the best of all sizes (in town).

• Swivel wheel/fixed wheel – Many joggers prefer the swivel wheel because they can ‘turn on a dime’. But if you’re really into running, you may want to stay with the fixed wheel since they turn easily while jogging, something you wouldn't want. Even though many swivel wheel strollers have the locking option, the wheels can still jiggle which can be a problem for serious runners.

Also, if you jog on sand or in snow the swivel wheel can present a problem since it can sink into the soft ground.

The bottom line – if you’re really into running, stay with a fixed wheel, but if you’re more of a casual jogger/walker, you’ll probably like the swivel wheel best.

Baby stroller accessories

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 7:16 PM 0 comments
Some extra features and accessories are available and will give added functionality to your baby buggy:
A rain cover is a useful and cheap addition - children love to watch the rain falling off the clear plastic while they are snug and dry underneath.
  • A coffee cup accessory looks useful - but with all the jiggling and trying to hold the buggy with one hand, you are liable to spill the coffee all over yourself, so stick to having a latte at the shop or at home before you go out!
  • A woollen sheepskin is essential for keeping your baby cosy and in comfort.
  • A canopy for shade and a storage basket for nappies and baby essentials is a must.
Daisy Chain Kids stocks Protect-a-Bub sunshades, used by even the most fashion-conscious celebrity mum, Sarah Jessica Parker, and they even come with ‘sparkles’ to make sun protection fun.
Most large shopping centres have buggies and strollers available for hire. It’s a good idea to try these out before the baby arrives, or borrow a friend’s, to see how you like the feel of it before you buy a buggy. For something that you will use most days and at a high expense, it’s worth the funny looks from passers-by politely informing you that you have left the baby at home!

Best Jogging Stroller for Tall Parents

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 8:51 PM 1 comments

There are so many strollers on the market today, options exist for nearly any unique requirement you may have. For instance, how would one determine the best jogging stroller for tall parents? This is where shopping online becomes invaluable, as you can compare many more stroller varieties than in any store, as well as view postings by other parents who have had similar experiences. The downside is not being able to test drive the stroller, but it is a good place to start narrowing down your options before heading to the mall.

Some recommendations for best jogging strollers for tall parents include looking at models with the largest wheels, as this contributes to an easy ride, as well as reduced back and arm strain. Unfortunately it seems very few models offer extendable handle bars. One notable exception is the Quinny Freestyle 3 by Maxi-Cosi of Europe, which is also available in a rugged four-wheel model, so perhaps we will soon be seeing more of these in North America once this feature starts getting noticed.

Other considerations to make in choosing a jogging stroller include lightweight construction, style of brakes, storage space, ease of folding, and available accessories. Quality of wheels and suspension are also important in determining the ease and comfort of the trip for you and your baby. There are so many jogging strollers on the market that you may want to try a few in-store, as well as reading and talking to other parents before making your decision.
Jogging strollers are designed for today’s active lifestyle, and you will want to make sure the stroller you choose meets your individual needs. Will you be jogging primarily from home, or needing to drive the stroller to your favorite jogging spot? Will this stroller be the only one you need? Is it suitable for indoor and outdoor use? Is it comfortable for use by both you and your partner? In addition to basic safety features and comfort of seating for your infant, these are all important factors to consider. Once you have these things sorted out you should be all set to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Happy trails!

Guide: Things to keep in mind while stroller shopping:

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 11:22 PM 0 comments

  • Test it out - If you are uncomfortable you won't like it. The handlebars should be a good fit not only for your hands, but also your height/stride.
  • Look for reclining seats for newborns or a car seat attachment. Since newborns need to lay down for the first few months, this will be the safest option.
  • 5-Point harness - most models of strollers come standard with a 5-point safety harness which is the most secure for baby. Make sure the harness is easy to adjust and easy to fasten.
  • Check for durability and stability. Is the frame sturdy? Does the stroller stay upright when slight pressure is applied to the handlebars?
  • Test out the accessories - do they seem flimsy? Cup holders and sunshades are know for being cheaply made.

Lightweight Umbrella Stroller

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 11:10 PM 0 comments
A lightweight umbrella stroller is a great product to have for traveling or to keep in your second car so you don’t have to worry about switching all the time. It's also likely that by the time your baby is 9-12 months old, this may become your primary stroller as most parents who are on the go want something that is easy to carry and take in and out of the car. Most stores sell very inexpensive “throw away” type umbrella strollers, however they won’t give you some of the basic feature that you are looking for and if it breaks while you are out of town, you will be frustrated.

Sheepskin Pushchair Liners

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 9:53 PM 0 comments

A pushchair liner made from 100% sheepskin is one of the most popular ways to keep your baby warm whilst out and about in their pushchair. They provide an extremely comfortable ride for your young ones. These pushchair liners are designed to fit all types of traditional pushchairs plus the more recently designed three wheel pushchairs. They come ready to fit, which means you do not have to cut the liner down to size and they will fit all types of straps. The great advantage is they can be washed in a standard washing machine on a cool wash.

All sheepskin pushchair liners on the market are safe for babies. They come guaranteed to be clean and sterile, and to have no-toxic dyes in the coloured versions. They have special harness points, which can be used for pushchairs and car seats.

Sheepskin is an amazing material - it is extremely soft and will help comfort your baby as they are travelling. Sheepskin pushchair liners may also be removed from the pushchair and used on a nursery floor or in the garden. Your baby will love the softness they feel when they are lying down on their own personal sheepskin.

One little known fact about sheepskin is that it helps to regulate the body temperature of a small baby and therefore will keep them cool in summer and warm in winter. Plus according to doctors sheepskin can also have a soothing effect on small babies, which can help when trying to get them to sleep and will result in a better night’s sleep for them too.

How to Test Ride baby stroller

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 9:30 PM 1 comments

Besides the infant car seat, the baby stroller is the next important parental equipment you will need for your newborn. Strollers will make getting around with your child easier if you choose the right one.

When selecting your stroller, price shouldn't be the main concern. Safety is, and you should look for one that is designed and constructed with quality materials. At a minimum, there should be a five point harness that keeps the newborn securely in the seat.
Online reviews and baby product buying guides can help you get detailed analysis and comparisons of many different makes and brands of baby strollers. But nothing beats spending time at retailers such as Babies R Us and trying what they have available.
When you go to these stores, bring your infant or child along if possible. If you don't, then bring a doll or use your imagination as you play with the strollers.

Strap your infant or child into these strollers and notice if it is easy or difficult to latch and unlatch. Latches should be child escape proof but not a struggle for a parent to remove in a couple of seconds.

Take the stroller for a test ride throughout the store, navigating aisles over bare floors, carpets and bumps. While you are doing this notice if turning corners is easy or hard, whether the frame has a solid feel or is wobbly.

Now take your child out and retract the stroller into its compact storable position. Then open it up again. Try this a few times and imagine if you will be happy with how the stroller performs this function.

For new parents, traveling without a stroller is almost unimaginable in today's world. When you settle on the right one, errands, trips to grocery stores, parks, restaurants or events will be much more convenient.

Baby Stroller Accessories For Parenting Pleasure

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 11:24 PM 0 comments
There are countless baby stroller accessories to choose from when outfitting your child's stroller for a more comfortable ride. There is everything from extra cushions, to strap covers and extra storage to toys that hang down for them to play with if the ride gets too boring. Baby stroller accessories fit most all standard size strollers, and there are also baby stroller accessories for double and triple strollers as well.
Starting at the back of the stroller, where the parents stand and push the stroller, there is a parent's organizer, which is basically either a tray that snaps on to where the handle is or a 'bucket' that has Velcro straps and it hangs from the curved handle. The 'bucket' has two cup holders and a secret pocket for valuables and the middle is insulated for snacks or can just be used to carry keys and a cell phone.

Also in the back of the stroller are several different types of stroller accessories such as mesh bags and thin backpack style bags for carrying extra clothing or diapers or toys that don't fit in the cargo area below. These bags usually Velcro on or slip over the handle bars or curved bar for pushing the stroller, in addition to the bags, there are large plastic hooks that snap on to the arched pushing handle that will be able to hold a diaper bag strap, purse strap, grocery bag or a coat and scarf. They come in sets of two and are great stroller accessories to add.

There are countless items that can be snapped onto the arch that is the handle that pushes the stroller. There are cup holders, an umbrella holder, a powerful light for dark nights, and an odometer for telling how far you've gone, especially for jogging strollers.

Inside the stroller there are a number of stroller accessories that help baby to be more comfortable such as strap covers and adjustors, quilted bumper padding or a small head holder for when she or he is trying to sleep. Lambskin covers for the entire strollers inside to help keep them comfortable and then there are mesh netting that cover the entire strollers outside so that there are no bugs getting to the babies and rain 'hoods' and covers to keep them dry.

Other stroller accessories include frames to convert the strollers into car seat or carrier holders so you don't have to move the baby from the car seat over to the stroller; the car seat becomes the stroller.

What to Look For in Triplet Strollers and Quad Strollers

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 11:03 PM 3 comments

The Quad Strollers

The quad strollers can accommodate four babies at a time. Just like triplet strollers, the quad strollers are available in different designs. There are quad strollers that are designed in a ways that babies are lined up vertically. There are also those designs where the babies are seated two in front and two at the back.
The quad strollers make it easy for multiple baby-sitting accommodations. Parents or caretakers can make use of the quad strollers to place four babies in at a time.

The Triplet Stroller

In the world of strollers, now available are triplet strollers and quad strollers. The triplet stroller has three baby seats. There are two designs of triplet strollers. One is designed in a way that the babies are lined up vertically and one where the babies are lined up horizontally.
In reality, mothers or nannies who do not necessarily have triplets can also use the triplet strollers. It could be used for babies of different ages as long as they still fit inside the stroller. It could even be used for caretakers in day care centers or other baby-sitting businesses.

What to Look for

Since the triplet strollers and quad strollers carry multiple babies, there should be criteria in buying the item. Here are the things that you should look for:

1. Quality of materials. When selecting triplet strollers and quad strollers, you need to see if the materials used do not easily break. For the fabric, it should not easily rip off as well. Besides, it is worth the cost since the usage of the strollers will be for a long time, accommodating babies ages zero to their late toddlers years.

2. Easy to maneuver. Since you are carrying many babies in the stroller, the design or the stroller that you buy should make it easy for you to maneuver. It should turn easily and should be as flexible as possible. It must also be easily maneuvered in different surfaces and terrains.

3. The triplet strollers and quad strollers should have spacious storage that can be filled with those things that your babies will need. Whether it is beneath the stroller or below the seat, the storage space should carry enough items for all your babies.

4. Although generally triplet strollers and quad strollers look bulky, you should choose one that can be folded for easy storage or travel. This way, it will not take too much space at home, in the day care center or in the car.

With these needed features, you will not only accommodate all your babies in one stroller, but you will also meet your needs in terms of convenience and at the same time your babies will feel comfortable riding on their stroller.

The Best Stroller for a Newborn

Posted by LiTTle PiG NaRak at 10:30 PM 0 comments
The Best Stroller for a Newborn Infant:The market does not only cater to older babies and toddlers. There are also available strollers for newborn infants. For your newborn, you can choose from a conventional design or a stroller with multiple purposes. These baby strollers are designed in such a way that they can be adjusted easily, so you can also use them as a baby sling and a baby mat. Prams for newborns are very comfortable. What is more, they look really nice. Since you are presented with several selections of strollers, you have to make sure that your choice is suitable for your child.

There are different models and designs of baby strollers. The most common include the following:

1. Jogging Strollers - the tires of this design are filled with air, to allow easy maneuvering on all kinds of terrains. They provide your infant with a smoother ride. The best thing about a jogging stroller is that it can tackle through rough terrain. Manufacturers have come up with this design to help you keep yourself fit, while you are out with your baby. While there is a jogging stroller that only allows a seating capacity for one infant, you can also find a double jogging stroller. This design is best for twins or siblings that have 1 or 2-year age gap.

2. Buggies or Umbrella Strollers - these designs are probably the lightest. They are also very compact, making them among the leading strollers in the market. They are easy to transport to trains and buses. They also fit well into the backseat of your car. They are usually available with rain hoods and trays.

3. All-Terrain Strollers - these often have 3 wheels and are considered the most fashionable in the market. The high price of these strollers is seen on their great comfort and sleek design.

Very Happy With This Stroller Julia O'C (Pittsburgh, PA)

I have a 23 month old and a 6 week old and initially thought the Joovy Caboose would be the stroller for us. Thank goodness we had the opportunity to try one out before we bought it! With the Joovy, if you have an infant carrier in the front seat, there is no room at all for the older child to sit on the jump seat. Also, for some strange reason, the jump seat slides back and forth which seems very unsafe. So if you have an infant in a carrier and your older child wants to sit, the older child is out of luck. What's the point of that? With this stroller, the older child has 3 options - sit in the back seat, sit on the jump seat or stand on the platform. The back seat can be removed fairly easily and stored in the basket underneath and my little girl (who is tall for her age) has plenty of room. She sometimes dangles her feet over the foot rest but this is not an issue. Our infant carrier easily slides into the front seat and is secured with a belt. This stroller opens and closes easily and is very easy to control as it steers beautifully - it's not nearly as long as I thought it would be but both children have plenty of room. Since it has the footprint of a single stroller, it fits through doors and entranceways with no problem. It is a little heavy when folded but I don't think I would find a stroller with these features that's not. The basket is nearly impossible to get to but I can live with it. Overall, I'm thrilled with this purchase and every single time I use it, someone stops me to ask about it. One woman even said, "That's the most practical double stroller I've ever seen." I have to agree.

Happy MOM! LOVE this for my 6 month old and 3 Year old Jo, W and P's mom (ohio)

Great stroller! So easy to use. It's smooth and lightweight. It fits just fine in the back of my minivan. My 3 year old loves the options to sit or to stand. My 6 month old fits nice and snug in the front. I have no complaints and have showed it to my friends, who also really like it. I compared and researched a number of strollers and am so pleased with this purchase. The parent tray could be larger, but that's my only beef with the stroller. I have back problems and I think that it's easy to manuver and steer and I don't really notice a weight difference between this and my single Peg P. stroller. LOVE IT!
